BeyThrex Academy ("we", "us", "our") provides technology skills training and career development services across Africa. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, and information generated as you use the platform.

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text)
  • Profile details: bio, location, skills, career interests, social links, resume/portfolio links
  • Learning activity: course enrollments, cohort membership, lesson progress, certificates earned
  • Payment details: transaction reference, amount, and status — we do not store your card or bank login details; card payments are processed by Flutterwave, and bank transfers are verified manually by our team
  • Communications: mentorship session notes, forum posts, job applications, support requests
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies (see our Cookie Policy)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and deliver the courses, cohorts, mentorship, and job-board features you sign up for
  • To process payments and send receipts
  • To send service emails: welcome messages, cohort confirmations, session bookings, application updates, and password resets
  • To match you with relevant courses, mentors, or job opportunities
  • To maintain platform security and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: payment processors (Flutterwave) to complete transactions; email service providers (Resend) to deliver transactional emails; employers you choose to apply to via the job board, who receive your application details; and law enforcement or regulators where required by law.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning records for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support.

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data via your Profile Settings
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted passwords, HTTPS in production, and access-controlled databases — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
